Itinerary
Day 1Arrive in Bhubaneswar – Konark – Puri (105 km/ 3-4 hrs drive)
Upon arrival welcome to the Guests from Bhubaneswar airport/ Railway Station. Meet & greet with our Company representative and drive to Puri. On the way visit to the Sun temple, Chandrabhaga Beach and Ramachandi Temple. Later continue to Puri. Reach Puri and you will be transferred to your hotel for check-in. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
Sun Temple – Dedicated to the Hindu Sun God Surya, what remains of the temple complex has the appearance of a 100 ft (30 m) high chariot with immense wheels and horses, all carved from stone. It was built by King Narasimhadeva I of the Eastern Ganga Dynasty in the 13th century, it is counted among the 7 wonders of India, famous for world heritage site & also known as “Black Pagoda”.
Chandrabhaga Beach – Famous for its long stretch of golden sand bordered with casuarinas. It is a cultural and traditional identity of Orissa.
Ramachandi Temple – Goddess Ramachandi, the deity of Konark is thought by some to be the presiding deity of this temple, while others thought it to be the temple of Mayadevi, wife of Surya. This Temple is located on a beautiful spot on the banks of the Kusabhadra River.
Day 2Puri – Chilika – Puri (50 km/ 2 hrs drive – one side)
After breakfast, excursion to Chilika Lake, when arrive at Satapara see the Irrawaddy Dolphins and the Sea mouth (Meeting point of sea & lake – the point where the lake meets the sea), Birds Island and Virgin Island. The lake is a winter hub of many spectacular migratory birds. After sightseeing back to Puri. In the afternoon visit to world famous Jagannath Temple, next visit to Golden Beach (Amazing sceneries of sun set) followed by free time for shopping. Later back to hotel. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
Chilika Lake – The view of sunset & sunrise is a delight to watch and it spreads across 1,100 square km. It is Asia’s largest brackish water lake and a winter hub of many spectacular migratory birds. It has been listed as a tentative UNESCO World Heritage site.
Jagannath temple – The 12th century Temple is considered as one of the four dhams of Hindus especially in those of the Vaishnava traditions. Many great Vaishnava saints, such as Madhvacharya, Ramanujacharya, Nimbarkacharya, Vallabhacharya and Ramananda were closely associated with the temple. Only Hindus are allowed inside the premises of Jagannath temple.
Day 3Puri – Bhubaneswar (70 km/ 2-3 hrs drive)
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Bhubaneswar. On the way visit Pipili village and Dhauligiri followed by Lingaraj Temple and Mukteswar Temple. Later check-in at hotel. In the afternoon visit Khandagiri & Udayagiri Caves followed by free time shopping at Local market. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
Pipili – This village is known as the handicraft village and also famous for Appliqué work.
Dhauli – It is one of the famous Buddhist destinations in India. After witnessing the devastation of Kalinga war Mauryan Emperor Ashoka renounced the path of violence and embraced Buddhism here. It is also known as “Peace Pagoda”
Lingaraj Temple – This temple was constructed in the 11th century, by Jajati Keshari, a Somavanshi king. The Temple is dedicated to Harihara, a combination of Lord Shiv & Vishnu
Mukteswar Temple – The architecture is one of the basic reasons why Mukteshvara Temple is also known as the “Gem of Odisha architecture” or “Kalinga Architecture”. It is a 10th-century Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva located in Bhubaneswar. The temple dates back to 950–975 CE and is a monument of importance in the study of the development of Hindu temples in Odisha.
Khandagiri & Udayagiri – The famous rock-cut caves Hatigumpha and wonderful sculptures in Ranigumpha built by Mahameghavahana Aira Kharavela.
Day 4Bhubaneswar – Cuttack – Bhubaneswar (30 km/ 1 hr drive – one side)
After breakfast, visit Nandankanan Zoo and then back hotel. Later drive to Cuttack and visit Maritime Museum (Closed on Monday), Peacock Valley. After sightseeing drive back to Bhubaneswar. Dinner & overnight stay at hotel.
Nandankanan – Literally meaning The Garden of Heaven. It was opened to the public in 1979 and became the first zoo in India to join World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) in 2009 The most attractions are white tiger, Lion safari and the Botanical garden.
Odisha Maritime Museum – The Museum devoted to the region’s maritime heritage, with model boats, navigational equipment & more. The chief attractions are the wooden boat replica’s, the huge boat shed and the lathe which was the largest in Asia during its time. The addition of the 3D shows along with the aquarium section to the museum is a huge draw especially for the kids.
Peacock Valley – A place in Cuttack where more than 100 peacocks can be seen at a time specially at around 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
Day 5Departure
After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer the guests to Bhubaneswar Airport/Railway Station to board the flight/train for onward journey and tour terminates here but sweet memories remain for forever…
